The Professional Track has a limited number of slots and is open by application only. It’s for authors who are further along the publishing journey and would benefit from advanced input and instruction to develop their already-in-motion career further.
This track is specifically geared toward those already in the professional writing trenches and is NOT a “how to become a professional writer” class.
In this track, you’ll find encouragement, ideas to reinvigorate your passion and skillset, and practical information with which to bolster your career. It will also provide support and networking for established writers.
Applications will be accepted until spots are filled, and will be processed as received (first come, first served).
Requirements:
- A minimum of one book already traditionally published (within the last five years, but at least one year ago by the time of the conference), with a known house, or two self-published books with at least 5,000 copies sold (combined)
- Alternatively, if you are a short-form writer, at least 15 paid articles/essays/stories in traditional publications
- A quantifiable platform of some kind
Procedure:
- Fill out and submit this application: PROFESSIONAL TRACK APPLICATION FORM.
- Successful applicants will be notified by November 30, 2026
- If class is not filled at that time, we will continue accepting applications until slots are filled or until March 12, 2027.
PLEASE NOTE:
- This is NOT a “how to be a professional writer” track … it’s for those who already are.
- Please review basic requirements to ensure you qualify before applying.
- If your case is unique/borderline, and you’re unsure whether you qualify, please contact Robynne Miller at director@vcwconf.com to ask any clarifying questions prior to applying.
