Our Mentoring Track is a unique opportunity to spend four one-on-one sessions with an industry giant (typically publishers, literary agents, and award-winning authors). About a month prior to the conference, you’ll submit a Mentee Survey and up to 10,000 words of your original, unpublished writing, which will be passed on to your Mentor. (All steps will be clearly explained upon registering) This way, Mentors arrive at the conference ready to dive into each component of your writing … from craft to marketing, themes to audience, and more. Meetings with your mentor are at an assigned time each morning of the conference and your Mentor schedule will be provided in your welcome pack upon registration.

Each day typically focuses on a separate aspect of your journey: your writing, platform, marketing, and next steps (those there is broad flexibility based on your individual circumstances, needs, and goals). This isn’t a set curriculum … it’s personalized to you, specifically, and meant to give you actionable, practical help and guidance no matter where you are.

As daily appointments with your Mentor don’t fill the entire morning, you can use the remaining morning free time to work on any action steps or “homework” your mentor assigns, do some personal writing or relaxing, set other faculty appointments, or attend another Major Morning Track of your choice. The way Vision is constructed, coming in and out of Tracks and Workshops for appointments is expected, so there’s no need to worry you might be disruptive.

Mentors are assigned, rather than requested, so we can most closely match the Mentor to the needs/genres of each Mentee. But each Mentor is able to profoundly address and impact the skillset and journey of any level/genre of writer. Mentors are revealed in your Vision Welcome Pack.
